Download Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - The Heart of the Dead Mod. This is a quest mod that takes you to The Lost Spires. Oblivion (also called the Void of Oblivion, the Planes of Oblivion, and Waters of Oblivion), is a collective term used to describe one subset of the planes of existence, inhabited by the Daedra. Oblivion is the portion of the Aurbis mostly created by the Daedric Princes, those et'ada who did not. Description/Review: This mod adds many classic TES artifacts to Oblivion. Notable events:
*I had a small difficulty around the start since I couldn't figure out how to speak the words at the cave.
*In one area the concentration of puzzles was a bit high for my taste.
*One quest was bugged for me having Kat as a companion and not enough approval for a romance (see bug report below).
*There is a mod conflict with Better Cities: in Stendarr's cathedral you can't do with Mara's symbol what you need to do with it to get the hint you need, and also you won't see the object you'll need to interact with after that because it's in a different room. Workaround: you don't actually need the hint to advance the quest: just return to the ground floor and walk into the room across from the main entrance, then use an item you got earlier to see where you need to go. It sort of suggests itself by its name.
Oblivion Mods
I was wondering what you guys think about Oblivion's numerous quest mods. Personally, I believe Oblivion's modding community really shines here. Some of these mods are unbelievably well-done, and are much better than the quests you'll find in the vanilla game.
Here's a few of my favorites, or some of the most popular ones.
Oblivion Nexus
Knights of the Nine: Revelation - Easily, in my opinion, the best Oblivion mod. The amount of work that was put into this is beyond me. In Revelation, you continue your role as the Divine Crusader to stop a threat that could lead to the enslavement of all free people in Cyrodiil.
Servant of the Dawn - A really cool and innovative mod that allows you to be the 'bad guy' for once. After completing the main quest, you are given the opportunity to join up with the remnants of the Mythic Dawn and become their new leader.. or more.
Kvatch Rebuilt - An excellent mod that allows you to play an integral role in the rebuilding of Kvatch, and potentially become the new count based on your actions.
Ruined-Tail's Tale - A well-written quest and companion mod that adds the titular Argonian follower to the game, as well as his complicated storyline.
Tears of the Fiend - A very popular quest mod that I regrettably haven't had the chance to try. From the same author of Ruined-Tail's Tale.
The Lost Spires - Adds an archaeology guild to the game, with you doing their dirty work. It includes a lot of fun and curious quest rewards for each task you complete as well.
Mannimarco Revisited - Overhauls the 'Confront the King' (Mages Guild finale) quest by revamping Echo Cave and making Mannimarco a force to be feared.
Mannimarco Resurrection: Light and Dark - A brilliant mod that, like Servant of the Dawn, gives you the option to be evil by joining Mannimarco's necromancers. It allows you to remain loyal to the guild too, however. Regrettably I haven't had the chance to test this one out, but intend to for my next playthrough.
