After having this Redmi 4x for just over 18mths I must've damaged it a little because a portion on the left of my screen is not responsive to touch anymore.

I get through it day-to-day but it's getting to the point of annoying now to have to change from landscape to portrait just to type things like the number 1 and the letter w so I'm looking for a similar style of phone to this and have no idea on the current lineup of Xiaomi's or any other brand.
As such, can anyone suggest some phones to research that are similar in terms of the 5' screen size (personal preference because I can touch the whole screen with one thumb), at least the same 3GB RAM/32GB storage as this model and support to run on Australian LTE?
Most of the phones I've started to look at are quite big compared to what I have now and I'm not so keen on 6'+ in my pocket.
