Torchlight 2 Embermage Guide

Hi, I'm new to Torchlight 2, but I have over 2,000 hours in POE. I thought I would try a different ARPG. I started with Embermage since I heard it was good starting class and I got bored when playing the Destroyer in Torchlight 1 a few years ago.

I'm wanting to do a burning fire build with a wand. Been thinking of using blazing pillar, immolation aura and firestorm as my damage skills. Not sure if that is a good setup though.

I've been leveling mostly into Focus and Dex for stats cause I want to crit, and a bit of Vitality.

Any build guides I can look at to compare with my idea?

Also, if I use a wand, am I supposed to use two wands always or wand and shield? cause I read about execution, but I don't understand how it works really.
